Blenard Azizaj is an Albanian dancer and choreographer, born on May 4, 1984. With a foundation in contemporary dance, his artistic work delves deeply into themes of social, political, and emotional transformation. Azizaj's choreography often explores powerful subjects such as immigration, belonging, identity, and the in-between states of being.

Born in Albania to parents who were traditional folk dancers, Blenard began dancing from a young age. At eighteen, he moved to Greece and pursued professional dance studies at the National School of Dance in Athens (KSOT), where he graduated with a degree in dance pedagogy and choreography.

Azizaj has collaborated with leading dance companies across Europe, including the Hellenic Dance Company in Athens, Sasha Waltz & Guests in Berlin, Akram Khan Company in London, and Compagnie Linga in Lausanne. His performance credits include Sasha Waltz’s Romeo und Juliette at the Deutsche Oper in 2015, as well as Sacre, Zuhören:Continu, Figure Humaine, and Unruhe in 2016.

His work continues to reflect a commitment to using movement as a language for navigating complex human narratives, creating performances that are both thought-provoking and emotionally resonant.
